I was so honoured to be part of Kim and Brent’s beautiful wedding. Held in California, their Palos Verdes outdoor wedding ceremony took place in a stunning location overlooking the Pacific Ocean – where Kim spends her weekends watching whales. There were whale watchers on duty during the ceremony and some gray whales made an appearance during the day to Kim’s delight – she even borrowed some binoculars to look for them! Whales were a theme for the day and were included in the signage and wedding favours.
They make a beautiful couple – Kim looked stunning in her lace gown with belt detail, while Brent was dapper in his deep-blue suit. Kim chose a classic white bridal bouquet of roses and peonies, gold peep toe shoes with purple nail varnish as a splash of colour. Kim followed the Japanese tradition and folded a thousand origami cranes which legend promises will allow a wish to be granted by the gods – or that you’ll be granted happiness and eternal good luck. The cranes were threaded onto long strings and hung up as a backdrop for the couple’s sweetheart table.
After the speeches there was dancing under the stars, with threads of fairy lights illuminating the ocean side patio – a fitting end to this Palos Verdes outdoor wedding. Surrounded by family and friends, it was an intimate and personal wedding for this very special couple – congratulations Mr & Mrs Young!
