Love Books
I love books – all my bookshelves are overflowing and I have to sneak new books onto them. I’ve always been a book lover, I’ve spent many happy days spent curled up with a good book and I love how they can transport you to another time, place and life. My shelves are filled with a mix of detective novels, love stories, fantasy fiction, psychological thrillers, comic adventures and travel guides with a few biographies and classics mixed in. Among my favourite books at the moment are The Night Circus, The Bear and the Nightingale, The Swan Thieves and The Invisible Library – but they change from time to time. I have authors I’m faithful too – I always look forward to the latest in Alexander McCall Smith’s Scotland Street series, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen had me hooked on Paul Torday’s novels and Michael Palin’s travel books are all well thumbed. I can spend hours in libraries or bookshops and I’m always looking for new recommendations.
