I photographed Wooly when he was 2 weeks old – and so it was really special to be able to come and take some at home newborn photos of his new little sister Willa. I spent some time just with Wooly, hearing about his favourite toys, playing in his toy kitchen and watching him race his cars with his parents Sophie & Luke. Then it was time for Willa to have some photos – a special patchwork blanket with balloons made a lovely background for portraits and big brother Wooly came and lay down with her too.
While Sophie was feeding Willa, I took the opportunity to capture some of the special little details – tiny toes & little fingers. Her whole hand wrapped around her dad’s thumb. Then Wooly was proud to show me how he could sit in the corner of the sofa so his baby sister Willa could be carefully placed on his lap. I took individual portraits of Willa with Sophie, then Willa with Luke, and of course I was also able to take their very first family photos.
I offer London newborn photography sessions at home – this ensures that everyone is comfy and has everything they need to hand. I ask you to get any special toys or blankets ready, and we have plenty of time for feeding, changing and settling without pressure.
