London Newborn Photography – Newborn photos at home with the cat – Graylin, Andy, Callan & Pinot

I loved photographing Graylin & Andy’s London pub wedding and was thrilled when they contacted me to ask me to capture the next chapter of their family life. Initially the plan was for some maternity photos, but an early arrival meant instead we arranged a London newborn photo session! Travelling to their home in South London meant that they were all able to be relaxed, with everything they needed for baby Callan easily to hand.

Graylin & Andy had decorated Callan’s nursery with beautiful jungle foliage stickers which made a lovely backdrop for some family portraits. A special handmade elephant quilted blanket that was gifted to Callan was lovely for some baby portraits, and I also made sure to photograph Callan with his first soft toys – green dragons. Over the course of a few hours I was able to capture detail shots of hands and feet, quiet moments as Callan was feeding and snuggling with his parents as well as first family photos. 

An at home newborn photoshoot also allows furry family members to be included – so we were able to include Graylin & Andy’s gorgeous black cat Pinot. Pinot seemed very happy to be getting some fuss and to be cradled like her new baby brother! As an old, gentle cat, Graylin was happy for Pinot to sniff Callan and Pinot even gave him a gentle lick!
