I’d photographed Anna, Tom & their son Freddie before – and so it was extra special to be asked back to capture some garden family photos for them – this time including new baby Nina and her grandparents. It was a really hot summer day, perfect for bare feet on grass, ice cream and garden games. I love summer family photos – and it was great to be able to capture what a day playing in their garden looks like. For 3 year old Freddie, a summer day means playing catch and football and running! He’s so full of energy! For 3 month old baby Nina, it is all about enjoying cuddles with her parents and grandparents, and getting occasional kisses from Freddie. Especially with a little one who loves to run, garden family photos are perfect as I could get everyone else seated in a group and ask Freddie to run over to give them a squeeze. And of course I included some relaxed couple photos for Anna and Tom at the end.
My natural family shoots last for up to 2 hours giving lots of time for fun, games, cuddles & races – individual photos as well as all the combinations you’d like. By making sure it’s fun with lots of playing, everyone can relax and I can capture really natural, happy moments – real smiles and laughs – moments to treasure. And I’m always happy to include grandparents – extended family photos make for perfect Christmas and birthday gifts, especially when grandparents live far away and can’t see their grandchildren as often as they’d like.
Garden family photos are great fun if you have space – or we can go to a favourite park or woodland. You can see Summer Primrose Hill family photos here and you’ll find Swiss Cottage family photos here – or perhaps you’d like to explore Hampstead Heath… Summer is also perfect for maternity photos if you’re expecting – or if the summer feels too full, there’s plenty of autumn family photo inspiration in these photos exploring Highgate Wood. If you’d like to book for some relaxed, natural family photos in London please send me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
