Claire & Joe planned a London church wedding at the St John’s Church in Buckhurst Hill where Joe’s father is the rector and so was able to conduct their wedding ceremony. This winter wedding was really special to capture, the ceremony was so important to both Claire & Joe – in the church that they both spend lots of time in. The service was made even more meaningful through the involvement of family and friends – Joe’s brother was playing guitar, friends sang and led prayers, and provided lots of cakes for guests to enjoy after the ceremony.
Claire got ready at home with her family, bridesmaids and dogs, choosing a gorgeous long-sleeved lace wedding dress from Betty McCaul one of my favourite bridal stores. She had chosen a mix of pink and maroon wedding flowers which were just stunning and really gave warmth to this winter wedding.
The evening reception took place in a marquee in the Rectory garden just a few minutes walk away. The weather was cold and wet, but the marquee was warm and welcoming. Before the speeches Claire & Joe headed back to the empty church with me for wedding portraits in the beautiful building. And the evening ended with everyone crammed onto the dancefloor – as well as the service the music and dancing was of top importance for them!
