I first photographed Nikki & Tom at their London engagement shoot in Kelsey Park back in 2019 and so it was really special to finally photograph their Whitstable wedding! Their wedding was originally planned to be at Port Lymphe Safari Park – however after the pandemic and adding a gorgeous dog to their family, they changed their plan to a small outdoor wedding at Beacon House, right on the beach. It was a hot and sunny summer day – blue sky and sunshine – and a perfect seaside wedding with fish and chips for the wedding breakfast and ice creams from a tricycle for dessert.
This stretch of beach in Tankerton has a feature called The Street – a thin spit of sand that is only visible at low tide, that stretches out into the sea. This makes for amazing wedding photos where you almost look like you’re standing on the ocean. Monty the dog was a perfect ring bearer and joined the couple for photos by the sea. After an afternoon celebrating in the garden, the couple went for a walk by the beach huts in the gorgeous golden hour light, ending on the seafront for special sunset photos.
Nikki chose bridal separates rather than a wedding dress and looked stunning in a silk skirt and cropped lace top from House of Ollichon. Tom had a navy suit and pink bow tie – matching Monty’s best dog outfit! Nikki wanted paper flowers and her bouquet featured flowers made of maps of places that meant a lot to her and Tom.
Speeches took place with the top table in a beach hut and the others outside enjoying the sunshine and were full of laughter – before a first dance which Monty crashed – demanding to be held between his humans!
Nikki & Tom said: “The photographs of the day were so important to us, and Hannah has done a fantastic job, from the engagement shoot to the day itself, the photos are a perfect representation of the day.”
