I loved working with Lottie Ettling to capture this gorgeous garden wedding, full of beautiful blooms all grown by the bride’s family. Caroline & Jonathan were childhood sweethearts and chose to get married at St Helen’s church in Burton Joyce. This is just a short horse-drawn carriage trip from Caroline’s childhood home, where the celebrations continued in a beautiful marquee surrounded by tepees for overnight guests.
Torrential rain shortly before the ceremony got everyone worried, but the sun came out and the weather was incredible for the rest of the day. Caroline looked stunning in her deep v back dress with wide sash, whilst her bridesmaids wore pretty chiffon dresses in different pastel colours. Jonathan paired a tweed waistcoat with deep blue tails. Their moving ceremony took place in the church, filled with gorgeous light showing off the stained glass windows perfectly.
Around the garden were homemade garden games including a coconut shy, hook a duck and skittles, as well as plenty of spots for guests to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The marquee was fill of bunting and flowers and even the tiered wedding cake was covered with bunting and blooms! There was also a Great British Bake Off cake table where guests could add their own creations and tokens allowed you to vote for your favourite bake! Away from the marquee, a quiet woodland walk was a lovely spot for romantic portraits and later while guests found their seats inside, a hay bale seat was perfectly positioned to catch the evening sunlight.
